KIN-VINE

Delete Your Account

Last updated: August 2026

You can leave Kin-Vine whenever you like — no guilt, no runaround. Here's exactly how, and exactly what happens.

How to delete your account

In the Kin-Vine app, go to Profile → Delete my account. You'll be asked to type DELETE and enter your password to confirm — this protects you from an accidental tap, not to make it hard to leave.

You must be signed in to delete your own account this way. If you can't sign in and need help, email info@kin-vine.com and we'll assist you.

What gets removed

Your name, photo, and login are removed forever — you won't be able to sign in again.

Your private messages and any saved places on your account are deleted.

What stays with your family

Kin-Vine is a shared family space, so deleting your account doesn't erase your family's history. The memories, photos, and recipes you shared stay with your family, shown as "a former family member."

Your place in the family tree stays connected so no one's lineage breaks — but it no longer carries your name.

If you own a family network

If you're the owner of a family network that still has other active members, you'll need to pass ownership to someone else first (Profile → your network → make another member the owner) so your family isn't stranded. Once you've handed it over, you can delete your account.

If you're the only member left in a network you own, deleting your account also removes that empty network.

This can't be undone

Account deletion is permanent. Once it's done, we can't restore your login, your personal profile data, or your private messages.
